The former refuse superintendent blasted the mayor over the outsourcing attempt, saying he told drivers to ask for 401(k)s because PERS is bad, suggested the female superintendent was a diversity hire, and called the ride-along a campaign photo op. Also said a transfer station already exists at the courtyard, permitted to 500 tons.
